The art of photography has facinated me from a young age. I took my first photographs on my grandfather's old Pentax. Over the years several different cameras have seen me shoot and photo-edit for the student newspaper, hold several public exhibitions and achieve distinctions both for visual art and wedding photography. Learn more about in me in the personal posts of my blog. In 2004, Whilst studying for my PhD at Cambridge University, I started photographing weddings and was immediately hooked.
Photographs are not just a record of what is in front of the camera but a delicate interplay between the subject and the way the photographer sees. The camera renders not only a reflection of light but a reflection of emotion. Forming a connection with my couples is so important to my ability to capture their unique day: from the details that matter to them, to the split second of emotion they feel, but never imagine they will get to see.
My clients have always greatly appreciated the images I take for them. Some of their comments are displayed, alongside one of my favourite images of them, in the Testimonials Gallery.
I become friends with those I photograph, and to that testament, my very first bride from back in 2004 (Helen Scales) published her first book last year, and asked me to photograph her for her hard back cover picture and website. You can see these pictures in the Portrait section of my Gallery Index.
