Ceri taught Terry how to make an origami paper crane and together they sat and over a few months made one thousand of them. An ancient Japanese legend says that he who folds one thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish. Ceri told me that couples fold 1000 cranes together to prepare them for marriage. What a romantic feat of creativity.
They will use the cranes to decorate their wedding venue, and it is going to look spectacular! Origami has become somewhat the theme now, and they are going all out with origami details to accompany their cranes. When I met them for their engagement shoot we couldn’t resist beginning the day by getting some shots of the cranes all together in one place. They really are beautifully done.

For our shoot we headed off to Wandlebury Park near Cambridge. Ceri used to come here as a kid and more recently, Ceri and Terry have been coming here to walk 5 miles a day for 100 days. The majesty of the tree lined ring that runs around the edge of the park is overawing and transported me to when I was little, playing in the woodland near my home. It was just the perfect place for their shoot, and they were a joy to photograph.
Ceri and Teri, you are unique and wonderful. I am honoured to be documenting your wedding in November. Good luck with the remaining paper folding!
