Chasing raindrops: Amy and David

Filled with anticipation, I knocked on their door. This would be the first time I met them. Usually I always meet my couples in person before they book, but Amy and David’s lives are so busy. It had taken us sometime to find a suitable occasion to meet for our consultation and pre-wedding shoot, and when the day came I had built up so much excitement, I was quite nervous.

I couldn’t have wished for a more genuine, loving and appreciative couple. We sat and talked at length about their plans, their family, sharing our experiences, and hopes and dreams.

Outside, it began to rain. None of this British drizzle (which incidentally I think is becoming rarer) but proper monsoon rain. And it didn’t stop. We decided to set out for a local pub and begin our pre-wedding shoot inside. Now here is the magic thing. When the rain didn’t stop, Amy and David were keen to brave the raindrops for some outside shots. It really was magic. Sure we got soaked, but there is something deeply romantic in these two, and it shines right through.

I am so honoured and excited to be documenting your wedding later this month. Thank you both for being so open and so much you.

Effortless Ria and proof you don’t have to always shoot an engagement outside. The use of the Cafe gave real intimacy to the images. RD
